Farmhouse with a new roof on a rural property near Wauseon, Ohio

Roofing in Wauseon, OH.

Wauseon sits about 25 miles northeast of our shop in Napoleon, a clean run up US-6 and OH-108. It is the county seat of Fulton County and one of the places we drive to most often. We know the back roads, we know the weather, and we know what roofs look like after a Lake Erie squall line rolls through in March.

The housing stock here is a mix. You have older homes in town, newer subdivisions on the edges, farmsteads out past the fairgrounds, and 40-acre properties scattered all the way out toward Archbold and Delta. Every one of those needs a roof that fits. What works on a 1912 home off Fulton Street is not the same product we would spec for a pole barn outside town.

Most of what we do in Wauseon is residential work. Tear-offs, re-roofs, and new construction. Andrew is on every job from the first climb-up to the final walk-through, and the crew does its own work. No handoffs, no surprise subs showing up in an unmarked truck.

Farms, pole barns, and rural properties.

Fulton County is farm country. Corn, soybeans, dairy, hog operations, grain storage. When you drive the grid roads between Wauseon and Fayette you see it everywhere: pole barns, machine sheds, grain bins, and older farmhouses with tin roofs that have been patched more times than anyone can count.

For ag properties, we spend most of our time on metal roofing. That is the right product for the job. A well-installed standing seam or exposed fastener panel roof holds up for 40 to 50 years on a pole barn. It sheds snow, it does not absorb water, and when a panel eventually gives out from a fallen branch or a lag screw backing out, we can replace the affected sheet without redoing the whole roof.

Common ag jobs we run in Fulton County:

  • New metal on pole barns and machine sheds
  • Rusted panel replacement on older ag buildings
  • Screw-down tightening and sealant refresh on tin barns
  • Farmhouse re-roofs in architectural shingle or metal
  • Grain bin adjacent structures and equipment sheds
  • Gutter work on barns that need runoff redirected away from foundations

We also understand that ag schedules do not match suburban schedules. If you need a grain operation roof done before fall harvest or a barn buttoned up before calving season, tell us. We plan around it.

Downtown Wauseon and older neighborhoods.

The older parts of Wauseon have housing that goes back well before 1920. Walk the blocks around the Fulton County courthouse square, up through the Wauseon Homestead Historic District, or near the Fulton County Fairgrounds and you see homes with steep pitches, cut-up rooflines, dormers, and original detailing that deserves more care than a typical production crew gives it.

We treat older homes differently. Flashing and step work gets hand-detailed. Ventilation gets calculated for the actual attic, not a generic formula. If the deck has old board sheathing instead of plywood, we do not just nail through it and hope. We replace what has failed and reinforce what we can save.

Yes. A big part of what we do in Fulton County is pole barn roofs, machine sheds, grain storage buildings, and farmhouses. We install standing seam and exposed fastener metal panels, handle screw-downs and rusted panel replacement, and can match existing colors on older barns.

Most homes in Wauseon run between $8,000 and $18,000 for a full tear-off and new architectural shingle roof. Farmhouses and larger rural properties can run higher. Metal roofing on a pole barn or farm outbuilding depends on square footage and panel type. Estimates are free and itemized.

We can match most shingle colors and profiles on older homes in downtown Wauseon and the neighborhoods around the Fulton County courthouse. For historic or restored homes, we also install cedar shake alternatives and heavier architectural profiles that fit the character of a 1900s-era house.
